Stanford Graduate School of Business Names New Dean

Stanford University's Graduate School of Business tapped economist Garth Saloner to take over as dean on Sept. 1. Mr. Saloner will succeed Robert Joss, who is stepping down after 10 years.

Mr. Saloner, who has taught at Stanford since 1990, specializes in electronic commerce, strategic management and economics. He founded the business school's Center for Electronic Business and Commerce in 1999, and is currently director of the Center for Entrepreneurial Studies.
