Doris Lee gave up her job as a Navy physician to open a restaurant serving food from her native Burma, called Myanmar now.

Needing cooks who knew the cuisine, the Cherry Hill, N.J., entrepreneur helped several family members immigrate to the U.S. and put them to work. When her son was accepted to Rutgers University, she used the same creativity to cover his tuition.
