State school board debates sex education

How to revamp the sex education component of the health education curriculum drew heated debate during the State Board of Education's curriculum committee meeting Friday morning.

Representatives from Planned Parenthood Action Committee, Utah Parent Teacher Association and about a dozen West High School students attended the meeting to toss their differing opinions into the mix. More arguments are expected as the board plans to further discuss the proposed revisions this afternoon.
