University of Florida third in athletic revenue

Those national championships are paying off for the University of Florida.

UF generated the third-highest revenue in college football and in overall sports earnings, according to a report Monday in Street & Smith’s SportsBusiness Journal.

SportsBusiness Journal, citing Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act forms, said UF reported $66.1 million in football revenue in 2007-2008, behind only the University of Texas ($72.9 million) and rival University of Georgia ($67.1).
