Neets: more teenagers without education, jobs or training

One in six is now classed as "Neet" - not in education, employment or training - compared to one-in-eight when the Government came to power.

The overall number of school-leavers aged 16 to 18 plunged into the category has also soared in the last 12 months, eclipsing the rate in 1997.
