Two education-related bills pass in Senate; third awaits approval

Education-related bills gained support in the Legislature on Tuesday.

Two bills filed by Sen. Dave Sokola, D-Newark, were passed in the Senate -- Senate Bill 151 that will permit the use of federal stimulus funds for incentive programs for teachers and Senate Bill 149 that will allow the state Department of Education to deny teaching licenses to non-public school teachers if they don't meet the requirements.
