Erma Meeks: Devoted love to her children, education

Opportunity through education was the surest path to success as far as Erma Meeks was concerned, and the Detroit mother of nine emphasized that point in her words and actions.

A former teacher's aide in the Detroit Public Schools, Mrs. Meeks died June 18 at Sinai Grace Hospital in Detroit of complications from pneumonia and Alzheimer's.
