State faces July 1 deadline on education funding

The state of Vermont is racing to beat a July 1 deadline for applying for federal stimulus money from the U.S. Department of Education.
Tom Evslin, the state's chief recovery officer, says Vermont's application was held up by a budget fight between Republican Gov. Jim Douglas and Democrats who control the state Legislature. But he says he won't miss Wednesday's deadline.
