Challenges for private education, challenges for us all

What does one say to heads of institutions of higher learning? These are people with real power. They oversee probably tens of thousands of faculty members and employees across the nation. Because they are ultimately responsible for the education needs of hundreds of thousands, they have the ability to change the lives of so many.

I could tell them that out of 100 Grade 1 students, fully a third do not graduate from elementary school and an additional third do not graduate from high school. Out....
