University of Texas collection details Cronkite's life

The Dolph Briscoe Center for American History at the University of Texas is home to Walter Cronkite's personal papers, which cover the noted CBS newsman's more than five-decades-long career. Cronkite was a UT student in the 1930s. The center has been planning a major Cronkite exhibit at the LBJ Library in May 2010.

Austin resident Douglas Brinkley, historian for CBS News and author of a Cronkite biography out next May, called Cronkite "a pack rat."
