State college grants frozen

More than 1,500 Northcentral Technical College students who qualified for need-based education grants might not receive that money.

The Wisconsin Higher Educational Aids Board put those students on a waiting list effective July 2. The move comes as several states are making deep cuts in college financial aid programs.
