State's top teachers offer advice on education policy

Educators have long used their "teachers' voices" to command attention from rowdy children. Now, a few of Vermont's finest are angling for similar authority in a national debate over the future of public education.

On Tuesday, under an open-air pavilion on a small farm in Waitsfield, about 30 past winners of Vermont's "Teacher of the Year" award gathered to discuss the future of the controversial No Child Left Behind act.
