More Hispanic students take ACT college-prep test

Hispanic students across the state are showing an increased readiness for college as more are taking the ACT college admission and placement exam.



Nationwide, 1.48 million 2009 high school graduates took the ACT's college entrance exam. Hispanic test-takers have increased 60 percent in the last five years, according to the nonprofit Iowa-based testing company.
