Candidate stresses education's importance

Standing in the Skills Center at Vernon College, U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison told dozens of people Wednesday that as Texas’ governor, she would work to make sure every child receives the education and training necessary to earn a good job that will support a family.

Hutchison, a Republican, made a stop in Wichita Falls during her “Texas Can Do Better” tour, announcing her candidacy for governor in the 2010 election. Her campaign began Monday.
