Education and training department to be split

The State Government is to split up the Department of Education and Training.

The Premier, Colin Barnett, says a new Department of Training and Workforce will be set up to help meet the expected increase in demand for skilled workers when the economy improves.

A budget has not been set for the new department but plans are expected to be finalised by the end of October.
