Rich schools want equity

Primary schools in socio-economic status categories one to five – one being the most disadvantaged – receive funding for school counsellors but schools in the more advantaged categories six and seven do not.

The SA Primary Principals Association wants the Government to allocate money for all primary schools to employ a counsellor and says it will make the demand part of its campaign in the lead-up to the state election in March.
