Recent rule change gives flexibility to college savers

It's hard to believe that consumers aren't taking advantage of every bit of economic relief offered by the government.

But when it comes to a key change that was made in 529 college-savings plans for 2009, it's clear either nobody noticed the news or nobody cared.

At the very least, however, the rule changed by the government should serve as a cue for millions of college savers to review their holdings, and maybe find a new place to stash their future tuition payments.
