DISD trustees debate college prep program

A much-debated college prep program that grooms select students for Ivy League colleges may not get all – or even part – of a proposed $2.1 million contract from the Dallas school district, officials said Wednesday.

School trustees are still deeply divided over the merits of the Academic Success Program, which some officials originally thought was geared entirely toward low-income students or those who would be the first in their families to attend college.
