Frankie Gonzalez, 37, head groundskeeper at Hohokam Stadium and Fitch Park in Mesa, is an example of how hard work pays off.

But Gonzalez, who started at Hohokam 12 years ago as a temporary employee making $5.50 an hour, had to correct a mistake earlier in life to finally earn his position.
