Governor says he’s ‘impatient’ for progress in education

Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman said he is a “very impatient guy” when it comes to education and challenged a group of community leaders, education specialists and officials to get to work preparing students to compete in the global marketplace.

Heineman was making the rounds through western Nebraska and earlier met with Nebraska school superintendents in Gering and then the Rural Regional Economic Development group as it continued to discuss and create plans for a statewide “P-16 Initiative.”
