Altius Education Lands $8 Million

Altius Education, a company that partners with junior colleges and universities to run a cost-effective online degree program, has been awarded in $8 million in a first round of funding, VentureBeat reported.

The round was led by Maveron and Spark Capital, and included participation from the Noah Fund.

The start-up plans to put the fresh capital toward development of Ivy Bridge College, its four-year online university program, including adding more courses to its roster.
