The current presidential administration is making a concerted push for better American education by championing a new college aid bill, monetary earmarks for school spending in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, and the augmentation of community colleges. At the same time, the first draft of a national standard of education has been released this week by the Council of Chief State School Offices and the National Governors Association.
