I feel that our children's health does not fall to the government to control and regulate, but parents and schools must be held accountable for the dietary health of youths ("Experts: Penny per ounce soda tax to fight obesity, health costs," USATODAY.com, Sept. 18).
A basic tax on soda, based on ounces, does reduce the reliance on purchasing larger containers for better value. But it punishes everyone equally, even consumers who are not obese. Childhood obesity stems from diet and nutrition....
