U.S. education official visits Oregon school

A top education official from the Obama administration visited Oregon on Friday to look at the ways a Portland-area school district is trying to ensure students learn essential skills before they graduate.

Deputy Secretary of Education Tony Miller visited Westview High School to meet with state education officials, teachers and students on his way to the U.S. Conference of Mayors in Seattle this weekend.
