Surging Applications to Cal State

A total of 111,140 prospective California State University students submitted their applications through the system's application website, csumentor.edu, between Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009 and Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009. Applications submitted last year, during in the same two week period, totaled 62,520.



The largest increase in applications continues to come from community college students applying for upper-division transfer to a CSU. More than 48,000 prospective students applied for upper-division....
