Californians support higher education, flunk the governor, lawmakers

Californians give high grades to their public higher education systems, but they are worried about college costs and the impact of state budget cuts. They also flunk both Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and the Legislature when it comes to support for the state’s higher education system.

These are the findings of a statewide survey released Wednesday evening by the nonpartisan Public Policy Institute of California (PPIC) with funding from The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation.
