Education and jobs. The two are inseparably linked.

Jennifer Evans of the Knoxville Chamber says she talked to a member of the Chattanooga chamber about the new Volkswagen plant coming to the area.

Two thousand jobs are available, for which some 40,000 applications were received. Evans said the Chattanooga folks said 40,000 was a low number; they had expected perhaps 100,000.
