Lawmakers urged to invest in higher ed

As lawmakers held the first of several hearings on the California Master Plan for Higher Education on Monday, leading public educators told the panel there's nothing wrong with the plan that money can't fix.
"The Master Plan is not broken. It's the envy of others around the world," California State University Chancellor Charles Reed told the lawmakers. "The key problem today is a lack of investment."
