New program helps ease transition from high school to college graduation

South Carolina high school and college faculty are working together in a new state program to smooth the path for students pursuing higher education and enable more to do so.

The teachers are examining the relationship of high school exit and college entry courses in English, mathematics and science so that students are better prepared for the transition to college work, according to an announcement from the state Commission on Higher Education.

Goals include improved retention of students
