Harvey Mudd College president appointed to Microsoft board

Microsoft named a college president and computer-science professor as its 10th board member Monday.

The board also declared a regular quarterly dividend of 13 cents a share, up from 11 cents in the same period a year ago.

Maria Klawe, president of Harvey Mudd College, in Claremont, Calif., and a decorated computer scientist and mathematician, joined Chairman Bill Gates, Chief Executive Steve Ballmer and seven others on Microsoft's board of directors. Gates and Ballmer praised her technical....
