Hiring projections drop for new college grads

College hiring projections fell 22 percent for the Class of 2009, according to a new report from the National Association of Colleges and Employers.

Respondents to the association’s Job Outlook 2009 Spring Update survey indicated they expect to hire nearly 22 percent fewer graduates from this year’s class than a year ago.

The association reported 67 percent of employers had altered their hiring plans for the Class of 2009, most of them cutting back on hiring projections.
