Outgoing Southern University President Ralph Slaughter files lawsuit against University board

Outgoing Southern University President Ralph Slaughter alleges in a lawsuit he filed Thursday that the Southern Board of Supervisors illegally polled and counted their votes behind the scenes.

Slaughter seeks an injunction to void the March 27 vote that would remove him from office when his contract expires. The lawsuit was filed in the 19th Judicial District Court in Baton Rouge.
