Hilliard appointed to national education committee

OKLAHOMA CITY – House Speaker Chris Benge announced that state Rep. Wes Hilliard has been appointed to serve as a member of the Education Standing Committee of National Conference of State Legislatures for the 2009-2010 term.

The Education Committee has jurisdiction over PreK-20 education issues, including early childhood education, K-12 reform efforts, higher education, the federal No Child Left Behind Act, the Higher Education Act, school violence, special education, teachers, school finance....
