College workers say no furloughs, freeze

GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP Members of Communications Workers of America Local 1031 marched around The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey K-Wing Circle on Tuesday to protest a proposal by Gov. Jon S. Corzine to require furloughs and wage freezes of state college employees.

“A contract is a contract,” CWA Local 1031 President Diana Meischcker said to cheers from participants carrying signs that said, “Stop Attacking New Jersey’s Public Workers.”
