San Marcos — It was definitely a performance worthy of first place.

Solid pitching, great hitting and good defense led the Texas State Bobcats to a 9-3 win over Southeastern Louisiana Thursday night in the first of a three-game series between two teams that were tied for first place in the Southland Conference at Bobcat Field.
