SALEM - The proposed bill that would require Oregon's state universities to interview a minority candidate before hiring a head football coach expanded Friday to include athletic directors and head coaches in all sports.

In a swift and surprising decision during a 30-minute first hearing, the House Committee on Education moved to amend HB3118. If the full Legislature approves the bill, Oregon would become the first state in the nation to require college athletic departments to interview minority....
