CRETE, Neb. (AP) - The National Wildlife Federation has certified the Doane College campus in Crete as a Wildlife Habitat.
The designation recognizes the 300-acre campus for creating wildlife havens.
Doane's student Wildlife and Conservation Organization chapter completed the application for the program. The campus has demonstrated that it provides food and water sources, wildlife cover, places for wildlife to raise young, and sustainable gardening, including the use of mulch and compost.
