This coming week the Legislature in Tallahassee will be considering double digit tuition increases at all of the 11 Florida State universities and colleges. This increase threatens the viability of the Florida Prepaid College Program, which I helped create, as well as the Programs goal of maintaining an affordable college education for all residents of our state, whose children desire to attend a state university and who are able to gain admission to that particular school.
