Exxon gives $8.3M to Texas colleges

Through the ExxonMobil Foundation’s 2008 Educational Matching Gift Program, oil giant Exxon Mobil Corp. and employees who donate money through the foundation have given $8.3 million in educational gift funds to dozens of Texas universities.

In all, Irving-based Exxon (NYSE: XOM) said 73 universities and colleges in the Lone Star State will receive money. Exxon Mobil’s gift fund to universities generally allows donors to pledge up to $7,500 per year to colleges or universities. Exxon matches the....
