Westwood College's parent firm to settle lawsuit for $7 million

FORT WORTH — Westwood College’s parent company has agreed to pay the U.S. government $7 million after its Texas campuses were accused of falsifying federal financial aid forms, encouraging students to cheat on placement exams and lying about whether students would be certified to work in some fields.

The whistle-blowers in the case are eligible to receive $1.19 million of the payment, the U.S. Justice Department announced Monday in the settlement of its case against Westwood’s parent
