Our Views: Supporting budget change

After witnessing the periodic slashing of budgets for public health care and higher education over the years, maybe more Louisiana residents are sensing there’s a better way to do the state’s business.

That is one hopeful reading of a new survey released by LSU’s Public Policy Research Lab.

Because of constitutional and statutory dedications, state budget cuts during economic downturns fall more heavily on higher education and health care.
