An armed campus at Jackson Community College may be justified

It is strange, and even sad, to hear officials consider arming security guards at Jackson Community College. The likelihood that an incident on campus might involve deadly force seems remote. Yet as we have seen on several occasions nationally, giving guns to security officers might be merely prudent.

A student at Henry Ford Community College was killed in a murder-suicide in a classroom this month. Shootings at Virginia Tech University and other colleges have claimed dozens of lives this decade.....
