Survey finds satisfaction with HISD is on the rise

Parents and community members in the Houston school district are generally more satisfied with its academics and spending than they were two years ago, a new survey shows.

Eighty-two percent of parents said their opinion of the Houston Independent School District this year was at least mildly favorable, compared with 65 percent in 2007.

“We are always searching for ways to improve education, but we’re definitely on the right track,” said HISD spokesman Lee Vela.
