• As the fall term gets underway concerns about H1N1 and seasonal flu continue. This is just a reminder that that if you are not feeling well, or have cold or flu symptoms the Wellness Center is here as a resource for YOU - we serve all students; grad and undergrad, resident and commuter. Please come see us if you feel ill.

   

  We have a nurse and an advanced nurse practitioner here Monday-Friday, 9-5 to help with any flu or cold symtoms. Frequent handwashing, sanitizing of high-touch surfaces, coughing/sneezing into your sleeve rather than your hands are powerful prevention tools for staying healthy on campus. There is a campus wide committee planning coordinating the prevention and response plans for any flu outbreak here. Updates can be found on this webpage or the calendar page of myDU.

   

  The Wellness Center offers free, routine medical care and mental health counseling with experienced, licensed practitioners who are specifically skilled at responding to the needs of students in the University setting.  We are here for you. We are here to help you stay well and succeed in your studies and your life. Call 524-6229 for an appointment before you are critically ill or completely distressed. If you have any questions about our services or schedule call us. Your call will be warmly received by Minerva Bonadonna, our office manager. The Wellness Center is located in the lower level of Coughlin Hall and open from 9 am to 5 pm.

  Health education is key to students' health and wellness and is incorporated into care as part of treatment. Prevention of illness or the progression of illness through education is a priority. Students are appropriately connected to other multidisciplinary health team members which include medical doctors or outside providers when the Wellness Center cannot serve their needs.
