  • Earlham College Resident Life
  • Earlham is a residential college with ninety percent of all students living in College housing. Whether living in one of the College's residence halls, Barrett, Bundy, Earlham, Hoerner, Olvey-Andis, Warren, Wilson, Mills or in one of the College-owned houses, living arrangements are designed to contribute to an atmosphere conducive to learning and individual growth

Residence Life programs are important in helping students develop skills for living that will last a lifetime. Living on campus offers environments more involving, emotionally supportive, academic, intellectual and innovative as well as providing an atmosphere encouraging interdependence, confrontation and dialogue, intellectual inquiry, recreation, and community.

Some College-owned houses join students of similar academic and cultural interests. These include the College's cultural centers and language houses - Beit Kehillah (Jewish Cultural Center), Casa Hispana (Spanish), Cunningham Cultural Center (African-American), Deutsches Haus (German), Hole House (International Cultural Center), Maison Français (French), Miller Farm, Fry House (Inter-Faith), among others. Additional College-owned houses are themed "Friendship" houses and provide opportunities for students to live together in a close-knit community.

The Office of Residence Life is responsible for the coordination of all housing assignments and room changes, the implementation of all residential life policies, and the administration of the Spring Housing Process. Students who are having difficulties with their housing situations are encouraged to seek help in resolving their problems. Initially, students should seek resolution of housing related problems through their Area Director and/or Resident Assistant. Following this, students should seek to resolve housing issues through the Housing Coordinator.
