Basics

About Me (Summary)

The candidate excelled excellently in taught academic training in Physics and Mathematical Sciences locally and internationally. Thereafter, acquired skills were applied to solve Chemical Engineering problems at MSc and PhD levels requiring advanced physical sciences, algorithm development, researching, programming and writing skills. I envision to contribute to the development of an employer’s organisation by utilizing the acquired research experience to solve complex industrial problems. In an academic community, I plan to teach courses related to my core research areas stated in the body of my CV and supervise students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels

Additional Information

Computing research skills & statistical expertise
Applicant has demonstrated working experience in the following technical areas:
1) Development of software using Python, Sage, Scilab, MATLAB, Erlang (functional and concurrent programming), Octave, and Fortran programming languages (5 to 6 years experience);
2) Familiarity with Linux (Ubuntu) and Windows operating system (4 to 5 years experience);
3) Statistical skills: correlations, time series, multivariate regression, analysis of variance (ANOVA) and statistical analysis of developed models based on experimental measurements (2 to 3 years experience);
4) Proficiency in developing algorithm and software demonstrated in the following work (4 to 5 years experience);
• Simulation of bubble population evolution through solving a PBM of size distribution of bubbles and validation by experimental measurements for hydrodynamic parameter predictions in a BCR (coding was in MATLAB/Simulink);
• Modelling work focusing on performance description and scale-up design of a BCR through a hybrid of PBM of bubble sizes (sizes are of the order of 0.25 millimetre) and ERT signals (coding was in MATLAB/Simulink);
• Computation Fluid Dynamics (CFD) through the steady-state PBM and the unsteady state PBM in the process of DGD after steady-state dispersion. The DGD process model was by solved analytically satisfying the unsteady-state advection-transport equations by the method characteristics in 3D and validated by experimental measurements (time, column axis, and bubble size) - coding was in MATLAB/Simulink; and
• Digital deconvolution of seismic waves for the recovery of white reflectivity series from contaminated seismogram with noise. The algorithm was coded in Python language and written as the Master Level PgD essay.
