    Performs a lead role in the analysis, evaluation, design, testing, configuration, implementation, monitoring, reporting, maintenance, and support of major complex enterprise security solutions for the operations of the Golisano College of Computing & Information Sciences.

    Job Responsibilities

    The Cybersecurity Systems Administrator is responsible for planning and implementing various technologies to support academic and research activities for the college. This position will need to work effectively as a member of a medium sized team that is responsible for the technology operations of the college. The individual will be the primary liaison to RIT's Information Security Office.

    The Cybersecurity Systems Administrator will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the college's systems, teaching labs and network. The position requires the ability to research technologies, troubleshoot systems and networks for software, hardware, and security related issues.

    Key Responsibilities:
    Investigates security of services and applications, utilizing expertise in communications and network security, identity and access management, client-side, server-side, databases, and application development.
    Performs the analysis, evaluation, design, testing, configuration, installation, implementation, administration, monitoring, reporting, maintenance, and support of complicated enterprise security solutions and frameworks.
    Leads operational aspects of security incident response, troubleshooting, support, and root cause analysis.
    Collaborates to develop strategic technical security direction for the college.
    Supports the college's academic mission through client administration, server and data storage administration, and network administration.
    Supports the college's research mission by advising faculty researchers on equipment purchases, research project technology needs and support, and RIT policy compliance.
    Other duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications

    Education/experience:
    Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
    3 years minimum experience working with medium-large IT environments
    Skills:
    Communications - ability to effectively communicate information about highly technical solutions, situations, and terminology in a way that will be easily understood by customers, team members, management, and nontechnical people
    Customer Focus - ability to establish and maintain productive relationships with customers
    Flexibility/adaptability - ability and willingness to change direction/priority and focus to meet changing organizational and business needs.
    Continuous improvement - Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to improve the quality of service to internal customers
    Technical expertise to carry out the major responsibilities listed above
    Ability to work closely with a team or independently to deliver expected results
    Tactical ability - identify and lead strategic objectives and drive results through effective actions
