Private Law School May Merge Into U. of Massachusetts

Saying that it seeks to preserve its "historic mission" and its commitment to legal education excellence and diversity, Southern New England School of Law has offered to enter into discussions that could lead to the donation of its assets to the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.

The donation offer was conveyed in an October 5, 2009, letter from Southern New England School of Law Board of Trustees Chair Margaret D. Xifaras to UMass President Jack M. Wilson.
