Fired music professor sues Northern Iowa

A fired music professor has sued the University of Northern Iowa and the Board of Regents, claiming discrimination, harassment and breach of contact.

Bradley Barrett was fired in December after a former high school student sued him for alleged sexual abuse.

Attorney David Dutton alleges in the lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in Cedar Rapids that Barrett was fired because of his sexual orientation.

Northern Iowa officials declined to comment on the lawsuit and said the Iowa Attorney....
