South Jordan » While the state of Utah sits on a $30 million gift for a college of dentistry, the private sector is moving forward to build the state's first such school in Salt Lake County's rapidly growing southwest corner.

The University of Southern Nevada (USN), a nonprofit school based outside Las Vegas, formally broke ground Wednesday on a $23 million 125,000-square-foot building at South Jordan's RiverPark, where it has operated a school of pharmacy since 2006.
